Kung-Fu Master is a side-scrolling beat 'em up arcade game originally released by Data East in 1984. The player controls a martial arts expert who must rescue his kidnapped girlfriend. The gameplay involves navigating levels, defeating enemies using punches, kicks and special moves, and collecting power-ups. Several bootleg versions exist, differing slightly in graphics, music, and gameplay mechanics.  These bootleg sets often had simplified or altered visuals and sometimes contained gameplay changes such as different enemy attack patterns or adjusted difficulty levels.  The popularity of the original led to numerous home ports and sequels, solidifying its place in arcade gaming history.
