This release, exclusive to Japan, brought Mortal Kombat II to the Game Boy with a title reflective of its Japanese name. While largely similar to the international releases of Mortal Kombat II, slight variations in content or presentation might have been included to cater to the Japanese market.  The game successfully adapted the fighting mechanics of the arcade game to the Game Boy hardware, delivering a portable experience for fans of the series.
