Dragon Warrior, initially released in the United States as Dragon Warrior, is the first installment in the Dragon Quest series. This game is a role-playing game (RPG), originally developed by Chunsoft and published by Enix in 1986. The gameplay follows a classic RPG format, focusing on turn-based combat, party management, and exploration. Players control a silent protagonist who embarks on a quest to defeat a malevolent dragon lord. The game was met with both critical acclaim and commercial success, solidifying its place in the RPG genre, and launching the global popularity of the Dragon Quest series.
