This version of Famicom Mukashibanashi: Shin Onigashima - Zenpen was released using the Disk Writer, a peripheral device for the NES that allowed users to create their own games. The Disk Writer variants of this game were produced using this device and could have several different releases(DV 2, 3), making them rarer collectibles compared to standard cartridge releases.  This version is of note for its use of the Disk Writer system, which was not widely used for commercial releases.
