Mega Man 5: Second Strike Protoman Edition is a ROM hack of Mega Man 5 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It features a revised storyline that centers around Proto Man, giving him a more significant role than in the original game. The gameplay remains largely faithful to the original Mega Man 5, retaining the classic side-scrolling action and challenging robot master battles. However, the hack introduces new levels, enemies, and boss battles that offer a fresh experience for veteran Mega Man players.  The hack was created by a dedicated fan community and is available for download online. This version significantly alters the story and adds several gameplay elements. The original Mega Man 5 was developed by Capcom and is considered a classic in the platformer genre.
