Probotector II: Return of the Evil Forces is a 1991 run-and-gun game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), developed by Toaplan and published by Tradewest in Europe. It's the sequel to the acclaimed Probotector. The game features intense side-scrolling action, showcasing the signature fast-paced gameplay and challenging difficulty Toaplan was known for. Players control a heavily armed cyborg soldier battling hordes of enemies across diverse and elaborately designed levels. The gameplay revolves around precise shooting, strategic use of special weapons, and navigating perilous environments. The game's graphics, while limited by the NES's capabilities, were impressive for the time, showcasing detailed sprites and backgrounds. Although known in Europe as Probotector II, the game is a localized version of Contra Spirits for the Japanese market, retaining much of the original gameplay but with alterations in level design, enemies and story elements. It never saw a release in North America.
