Rockman, known as Mega Man in the West, is a landmark title in the NES library released in Japan. It's a side-scrolling shooter where players take on the role of Rockman, fighting various robot masters and collecting their weapons.  Developed by Capcom, it is the first game in the incredibly influential Mega Man franchise.  The game set a standard for platforming and shooting mechanics, inspiring countless other games in the genre.   Its impact on gaming is substantial and continues to be felt even today.
