Captain America and the Avengers is a beat 'em up game developed by Data East and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis in 1991. Based on the Marvel Comics characters, the game features fast-paced action and co-op gameplay. Players can choose from Captain America, Iron Man, or the Hulk, each with their own unique fighting abilities. The game featured a simple, but enjoyable, fighting system, and levels that progressed as you completed them. Data East was a relatively successful arcade game developer and publisher with various titles in a number of genres.  This game was one of their most well-known releases on the Sega Genesis.
