Daikoukai Jidai (Japan)
Daikoukai Jidai, meaning "Great Ocean Era" in Japanese, is a role-playing game (RPG) released for the Sega Genesis in Japan. Known for its exploration and seafaring gameplay, players embark on an adventure across the world's oceans, commanding ships and engaging in naval battles. Players manage resources, trade goods, and recruit crew members. The gameplay is more strategy-oriented than standard RPGs of that era. The game's unique historical setting and emphasis on naval combat distinguishes it within the RPG genre of the time. It was developed and published by Koei.
