Dragon Quest VI, known in Japan as "Dragon Quest VI: Maboroshi no Daichi" (Dragon Quest VI: The Phantom Realm), continues the legacy of the Dragon Quest series on the SNES. This installment offers a more mature story, complex characters, and a vast world to explore compared to previous entries. The game uses the traditional turn-based combat system with a party of characters and an engaging narrative that follows the hero as he travels across multiple worlds.  The emphasis on narrative, exploration, and character development elevates the experience beyond typical RPG conventions of the time. Square Enix remains the developer and original publisher.
