Mortal Kombat Champion Edition is an enhanced version of the original Mortal Kombat. Released in arcades and later ported to home consoles, including the SNES, this edition added new characters and stages to the original roster. The SNES version, like the initial release, utilized digitized sprites, but faced some limitations in visual fidelity when compared to arcade counterparts. Midway Games developed and published this version as well, adding extra content that made this iteration a valuable addition for fighting game fans. The improvements to the original game made Champion Edition a success.
